Following are some highlights from the Township’s snow removal policy:

• Residents are asked to avoid parking vehicles along Township roads when snowstorms are anticipated and required to remove vehicles when a snow emergency is declared.
  
  
• Township crews will respond first to any legitimate emergency.
  
  
• Crews will ensure that emergency service equipment can exit their buildings
  
  
• Crews will clear major Township roads.
  
  
• Crews will clear at least one lane in all developments and provide two-lane traffic when and where possible and practical.
  
  
•   Property owners are requested to clear the areas around fire hydrants to ensure adequate fire protection.
  
  
• Residents should place trash containers and recycle bins away from the curb so the objects are not a hazard to snow plows and other vehicles.  When clearing your driveway, shovel the snow on the lower side of the driveway so that snow plows don’t pushit back into the area you just shoveled.
  
  
• Township ordinance requires that sidewalks be cleared no later than eight (8) hours after the last snowfall.
